A little princess

A novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Sara Crewe, a student at Miss Minchin’s Select Seminary for Young Ladies who is unusually bright and creative, is saddened when her loving, indulgent father passes away. Sara is humiliated, mistreated, and made to work as a servant after becoming impoverished and being exiled to a chamber in the attic. A Little Princess, one of the most well-known stories in children’s literature, centers on how this clever girl’s fortunes shift once more.

Although most people read the story at 8 or 9 years old, I would say all ages would enjoy it.
